by livingalie inhello to all it has been awhile since my last post but i have been lurking .i just wanted to be careful since i have been trying to be reinstated.
to give you a little background in short after i left bethel (1993-1999) in 1999 i got married to a local sister from new york city ( brooklyn).i worked at different jobs but the last job i had was with the city of ny after 9/11 i lost the job .i told my wife about a job down south ,i told her that i would go down try the job out and if it looks like a good fit and it would work out she should move down in a few months .the job was going great things were looking up i told her to moved down but she hated the town said it was to small nothing to do but the great thing about it was that her job was in the town also all she would have to do was just transfer no job hunting at all .
my wife would not move this went on for the next 2 years she said she was coming down then she said she need to finish up something at work .

Dude! Sorry you had such a bad experience and marriage partner. I missed if you answered: Why do you want back in? Not criticizing you personally, I'm criticizing the evil with which you have been afflicted, namely the JWs.
Wishing you the best possible outcome.

The Dishonesty Amazes Me
by roflcopter inso there was a brother that i have know for some time that bought a little truck.
i wanted to buy this truck and he wanted to sell it to me, but might at the same time want to keep it since his son is almost of age.
so i borrowed this truck for a while, about a month, and the brother told me he put it on his insurance and it cost him a whopping 25$ a year since he had been with his insurance company.. well long story short a lady cut me off and i rear ended her at about 5mph... not a very hard collision... but when i call the brother (who is a ms) he says he doesnt have insurance and denies telling me he ever had it.

Me here, evil car sales person. I say, In most states, if you have insurance you are insured no matter who's car you are driving, whether he had insurance or not is not at issue, it's whether you did. A car driver needs car insurance. Hence, if he is attempting to commit any sort of fraud, insurance or title, he may be committing a felony. This is good. We delight in reporting this sort of behavior.
Thanks to Je---ah!

I Don't Believe in God, or wait, Maybe I Do. . . a little wisdom please?
by Pioneer Spit...oh, i mean Spirit ini am conflicted as to whether i can or even want to believe in god.
(using capital g out of respect) i can't separate love of god and my jw life.
i pioneered for 10+ years, and thank goodness for that, because i can now easily memorize anything and read upside down.

I am conflicted as to whether I can or even want to believe in God. (using capital G out of respect) I can't separate love of God and my JW life. I pioneered for 10+ years, and thank goodness for that, because I can now easily memorize anything and read upside down. I abhor flat shoes, floral skirts and sternly reject persons who wear high heels without hose.
I'm angry at the whole concept. I know religious friends and co-workers, and they seem content with their practice of religion. I have ingrained in me that if you know 'it' you're obligated to practice 'it' wholly-that lends to the whole ugly holy belief system and lists of dos and do nots or else. If God is indeed real, I don't believe that he/she/them has anything but love and acceptance for you/us/me. I admire the people I know who believe in God and/or Jesus, are confident with it and don't live an austere life as a result.
When I analyze what I believed or was led to believe as a Hoho, I conclude this: As a JW I believed that God is an angry God who feeds on our soldiering endurance and tears, and we can appease him by being superior to others.

I'm dating a JW, and need some advice!
by changtech ini'm new here, and have read a lot of topics here.
this site has been very helpful to me in the short time i have been here.. what has drawn me here is the fact that i have been dating an active jw guy for about 9 months now (i was raised catholic, but am currently searching for a faith that i feel is right..i have yet to find it).
we are very much in love, but our differences in beliefs have caused a lot of problems.

AND. . .perhaps you don't know this, but the JWs forbid oral sex. Good luck with that.

Hi and welcome. I don't want to sound like I'm only bashing your beau, but please read the life stories of those of us raised as JWs. You'll see some common issues that we have all admitted to and are still working on: Unable to relate to others and communicate honestly, unable to love unconditionally, isolating ourselves emotionally and physically. People in general have these and other personality flaws, but with a JW lad we're talking 100-fold. The fact that he is dating 'a worldly girl' shows that he's not 'spiritually strong' (a JW term), so why is he bent on dragging you into it, and worse, why is it so important to him that it appears to others that you're a studying, interested person?
People are never happy when they let others squeeze them into a mold, he isn't, and you won't be either.
Hugs.

As a DUB, what did you do and hid so as not to stumble anyone?
by megsmomma ini was thinking of all the "concious matters" that you could do if you wanted, but would not tell anyone so you wouldn't get in "trouble".
one thing that came to my mind is when after having my baby, i wanted to join weight watchers...there were two meeting places to choose from...one close to me and in a church....and one quite far not in a church.
well, i went to the one in the church, always worried someone would see me(but i didn't really think it was a big deal) so, what did you all hide?

All very interesting and familiar. Our family had motorcycles, it was a secret. My dad kept a gun in the truck when we went out in the sticks to ride or camp, that was a double secret. When Pink Floyd sang 'we don't need no education', my mom said it was ok and that my brother could have the album. . .she said it was true that we didn't need secular education, plus the teachers were corrupt like the song says anyways, and THAT was secret decoder-ring secret.
